Spirit Airlines has started twice daily nonstop service between Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and Las Vegas. It is offering an introductory roundtrip fare of $57.58 that is available until Friday, Feb. 10. The airline is also doubling the number of cities it serves from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport from three to six. The airline started daily nonstop service from DFW to Atlanta, New York LaGuardia and Orlando.

In addition, Spirit has filed with the U.S. Department of Transportation to begin service between DFW and Toluca/Mexico City. Schedules and fares will be announced upon receipt of necessary governmental approval.

Spirit also announced that it will begin four weekly flights between DFW and Tampa starting May 4. By this spring, Spirit will more than triple the number of cities it serves from DFW since it start offering its ultra low fares to the Metroplex a year ago. In addition to Tampa, Spirit recently announced that it will begin service between DFW and Myrtle Beach with three non-stop flights per week starting on May 3. Daily nonstop service from DFW to Boston and Phoenix-Mesa starts on March 22. Spirit operates 175 daily flights to 45 destinations in the U.S., Latin America and Caribbean.
